History

gavgapi was established in 2003 when the owner, Gavin de Klerk, started selling desktops, notebooks and hardware components to students at the University of Pretoria campus where he received his tuition. After completing his Bachelor of Information Technology degree with a major in Computer Science in 2004, Gavin decided to put his efforts into running the business full-time. Due to several constraints faced by the newly formed company, it would have to be a gradual transition from his current position to reaching his dream: developing a prosperous software and web development company. During its early phases, the business experienced a major shift in focus from supplying hardware to providing desktop support, while simultaneously trying to establish a reputation in the software industry.
